About the role

Role focused on finding hidden issues in in-house software operations workflows, building evidence-based recommendations, and driving implementation to improve quality and reliability of Nuro's autonomy software operations, with direct collaboration to leadership and offshore QC alignment.

Responsibilities

  • - Spend real time in the workflow to form your own read on where it breaks and test theories against real cases before proposing fixes
  • - Build a working theory of root causes and translate findings into concrete, evidence-backed recommendations
  • - Defend recommendations and update them rapidly when feedback indicates necessary changes
  • - Report findings and recommendations to the Head of Software Operations on a regular cadence
  • - Translate findings into executable procedures, rubrics, and taxonomy reflecting actual work processes, with traceable changes and usable documentation
  • - Ensure offshore vendor alignment by translating standards into actionable instructions for the offshore QC team, running calibration sessions, and maintaining proactive vendor relationships

Qualifications

  • - 4+ years in a role measured by judgment and outcomes (e.g., project management, operations, process design, or QA in software/tech)
  • - Track record of identifying unsassigned problems, building a case for fix, and driving implementation
  • - Ability to form independent hypotheses with incomplete information and stress-test quickly
  • - Experience making evidence-based change requests and managing pushback
  • - Sharp pattern recognition and ability to convert observations into clear, specific recommendations
  • - Strong written communication with unambiguous procedures/rubrics
  • - Comfortable with tools like Notion, Confluence, Airtable, Jira, or similar
