About the role

Full-Stack Product Counsel responsible for product legal strategy across hardware and software, with emphasis on privacy, IP, compliance, and commercial/transactions. Partner with product, engineering, marketing, and business teams to shape current and future Skydio products and ensure global product compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and own product legal strategy across all products
  • Go-to counsel and lawyer for product, engineering, and product development
  • Build and foster relationships across the org, from software engineers to execs
  • Contribute to Skydio’s entrepreneurial culture by exploring fresh ideas, identifying risk areas, and finding smart, creative ways to address them
  • Adopt tools and create processes to automate, encourage self-service, and work efficiently
  • Become an expert in flying robots

Qualifications

  • You hold a JD and are admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 6+ years of in-house experience as a generalist or product counsel
  • You are a true Full Stack Product Counsel
  • Experience with both hardware and software
  • Strong triage and prioritization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and maintain accuracy
  • Collaborative mindset with cross-department relationship skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity, proactive problem-solving, and driving projects to completion
  • Experience with government customers at international, federal, state, and local levels is ideal
  • FAA Part 107 certification within 60 days is encouraged and may be required for certain roles
