About the role
Senior Product Quality Engineer focused on Low Observable (LO) and RF systems for the Fury autonomous aircraft program. Embedded within design, manufacturing, and test teams to develop and execute quality processes ensuring LO structures, coatings, antennas, and RF subsystems meet stringent aerospace requirements.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary quality interface for Low Observable and RF systems within the Fury program, embedding within design, manufacturing, and test teams to integrate quality principles from concept to high-rate production.
- Partner with LO and RF design teams to review designs and analyses of antennas and LO features, providing DFM, DFT, DFR, and DFI feedback to ensure robust specifications, drawings, material call-outs, and test requirements.
- Review and approve decomposition of system requirements for LO/RF (e.g., link-budget, RCS) ensuring measurability, verifiability, and traceability.
- Develop and implement Quality Control Plans for manufacturing, integration, and sustainment of LO structures, LO coatings, and integrated RF systems.
- Lead PPAP and FAI for LO/RF components and assemblies with unique material and geometric requirements.
- Drive in-process and final QC controls, defining critical process parameters, developing SPC for critical features, and establishing inspection/test plans for LO/RF elements.
- Ensure LO/RF manufacturing processes and test capabilities align with system performance and reliability requirements.
- Collaborate with Air Dominance and Strike LO team and broader orgs to ensure predictable product quality from prototyping to production ramp and sustainment.
- Analyze KCCs/CTQs, develop measurement systems (e.g., RCS, IR, RF performance), and lead qualification activities for LO/RF systems.
- Develop, witness, and approve test plans/procedures for LO/RF performance (anechoic chamber, near/far-field RF, RCS).
- Own identification and mitigation of LO/RF manufacturing and product quality risks; conduct audits, trainings, and documentation.
- Lead RCCA and MRB activities for LO/RF defects; drive containment and corrective actions; evaluate effectiveness and share lessons learned.
- Audit the Quality Management System for LO/RF manufacturing, test, and assembly to ensure compliance with AS9100, MIL-STD-882, LO/RF standards.
Qualifications
- Able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other STEM field
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or Product Test Engineering with focus on RF, LO, or aerospace materials/processes
- Proficient understanding of RF concepts (aperture antennas, impedance matching, link-budget, co-site interference) from QA/test perspective
- Experience with RF QA of antenna modeling/prediction tools (CEM tools: HFSS, CST, SENTRi, ADS, FEKO)
- Proficient in QA of antenna measurement techniques (anechoic chamber, near/far field, RCS)
- Experience developing QC plans for LO/RF manufacturing/integration with specialized materials/processes
- Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 QA requirements; Lead/Internal Auditor certification is a plus
- Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, GD&T
- Strong ownership mindset to drive projects end-to-end in fast-paced enviroment
- Analytical skills for data mining, data quality, metrics, and statistical analysis tools (MatLab, JMP, Minitab)
