About the role

HVAC Design Engineer responsible for fluID/HVAC systems across SpaceX campus, including design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing of fluid systems; serves as subject matter expert on HVAC, compressed air, piping, and dust collection.

Responsibilities

  • Own and serve as SME on fluid/HVAC components across campus – compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, valves and dust collection systems
  • Perform CAD modeling and design of these systems
  • Perform fluid analyses for pressure balance, component design allowable, and consumables determination
  • Work with interdisciplinary customers to ensure components meet production, avionics, GNC, mission operations and other SpaceX program requirements
  • Ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable; coordinate with production for smooth transition to manufacturing process
  • Material selection, sizing and procurement support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of professional experience with fluids components (valves, pumps, COPVs, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors)
