About the role

Manage end-to-end planning for Starship, coordinating with engineering, production, and procurement to enable scalable, multi-configuration production while balancing cost, risk, and delivery performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end planning lifecycle for Starship sub-assemblies or finished goods, from accurate bill of material requirements, appropriate supply coverage, and timely configuration management to satisfy the engine production plan.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement to understand internal rate goals, design change landscape, and supplier production plans to set up a robust supply chain plan capable of scaling with multiple configurations and production rates.
  • Utilize risk management to balance cost, reliability, and production rate based on program goals in a dynamic environment and make effective risk calls.
  • Manage the supply schedule for raw material and finished goods to optimize days on hand and inventory turns, minimize obsolescence, and enable full-rate production without excess inventory.
  • Communicate forecasts to internal and external stakeholders reflecting minimum requirements while hedging against upside or changes in direction.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in multi-tier global supply chain by coordinating with procurement, logistics, engineering, etc., proposing creative solutions and driving to closure.
  • Balance NPI with rapid iteration and design changes as well as stable production with good risk intuition.
  • Partner with engineering and production to plan for and incorporate design or process changes without impacting build rate.
  • Support insourcing efforts to guarantee constant supply from internal and external sources to meet production targets.
  • Assess and monitor supply base capacity and constraints at primary and sub-tiers to inform scenario planning and ramp risks.
  • Maintain part and planning master data reflecting lead-times, allocations, yields, attrition, offsets, order policy, and other parameters.
  • Guide and mentor peers to strengthen resiliency and talent pipeline.
  • Define and incorporate organization-level processes and improvements to scale operations and efficiently utilize human capital.
  • Develop applications, reporting, and dashboards to measure KPIs and support scaling to meet Starship vehicle manifest.
