Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate backend and fullstack systems that incorporate LLMs, tools, and agents as core components;
  • Build agentic workflows (multi-step, tool using, stateful systems) that solve real product and operational problems;
  • Integrate LLMs safely and reliably into production systems, with attention to observability, cost, and failure modes;
  • Use modern AI coding tools to accelerate development, refactor, and explore;
  • Set patterns and standards for how AI is used in day to day engineering work;
  • Help the team move faster without sacrificing quality or clarity;
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other stakeholders to shape solutions;
  • Translate high level goals into technical architecture and execution plans;
  • Contribute to roadmap discussions with a strong systems and platform perspective;
  • Design APIs, services, and data models (primarily backend leaning);
  • Ensure reliability, security, privacy, and scalability in a regulated healthcare context;
  • Operate and observe the system’s behaviour in the real world;
  • Improve developer experience and internal tooling where it unlocks leverage.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with strong knowledge of AWS, Java, Typescript
  • Strong experience in building with LLMs in production
  • Clear enthusiasm for the capabilities and opportunities of AI and agentic systems
  • Strong system design skills and comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
