About the role
Simbie AI is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to own customer deployments end-to-end, shipping production code, and integrating AI agents into healthcare workflows within EHR systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical scoping, build, and go-live for medical practice implementations
- Configure and deploy production AI agents tailored to each customer's specialty, workflows, and patient population
- Build EHR integrations across FHIR and HL7 interfaces
- Launch agents that handle thousands of real patient interactions daily
- Debug live issues across phone systems, EHRs, scheduling platforms, and patient engagement tools
- Architect solutions for insurance verification, appointment rules, clinical protocols
- Build tooling and automation to accelerate deployments
- Optimize agent performance in production using real-world data and customer feedback
- Partner with Product Engineering to influence platform direction based on field learnings
- Identify repeatable features from deployments and work with Sales to scope technical requirements and demos
- Be the voice of the customer to inform product needs
Qualifications
- 3+ years of software engineering with a track record of shipping production code
- Proficiency in Python; comfortable reading and writing across the stack
- Strong experience with APIs, third-party integrations, and working across multiple systems
- Excellent communication — able to explain complex integrations to physicians or ops directors
- Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in forward progress
- Scrappy and resourceful mindset
- Genuine interest in healthcare and improving patient access
