About the role

Senior/Staff Engineer in Bengaluru leading the technical execution for massive-scale physical AI training data platforms, owning end-to-end features and cross-functional mentorship within Instawork Robotics Labs (IRL).

Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Versatility: Seamlessly transition between frontend, backend, and infrastructure. Own features end-to-end, shipping with high quality.
  • Platform Ownership: Lead development of Instawork Lens and Instawork Radiant, ensuring high-throughput data enrichment, labeling, and QA loops.
  • Infrastructure & Video Piplines: Architect and scale cloud environments; manage AWS infrastructure and ECS services for video transcoding with observability across CPU, memory, network, and disk IOPS.
  • Architect for Scale: Design data pipelines to securely process petabytes of global video and telemetry data without bottlenecks.
  • AI-Leveraged Engineering: Use agentic models to accelerate delivery while guiding AI usage and ensuring architectural integrity.
  • Cross-Functional Mentorship: Guide mid- and senior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and architectural discussions.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, databases, and networking
  • Full-stack development experience (Python, Django, React or similar)
  • Willingness to learn new languages/tools as needed
  • Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, ECS/Docker, CloudWatch)
  • Experience building scalable backend systems for data-heavy/high-throughput apps
  • Startup/multi-stakeholder environment experience
  • Passion for robotics and AI-driven engineering
