About the role

Senior Engineer role in Instawork Robotics Labs (IRL) Bengaluru hub, building and scaling data/AI infrastructure for massive-scale physical AI training data. Owns Instawork Lens and Instawork Prism platforms, with full-stack responsibilities across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Versatility: Seamlessly transition between frontend, backend, and infrastructure. Own features end-to-end, solving technical challenges to shipping.
  • Platform Ownership: Lead the technical development of Instawork Lens and Instawork Radiant, ensuring high-throughput data enrichment, labeling, and continuous quality assurance loops.
  • Infrastructure & Video Pipelines: Architect and scale cloud environments, manage AWS infrastructure and ECS services for video transcoding, with thorough observability across CPU, memory, network, and disk IOPS.
  • Architect for Scale: Design and optimize data pipelines to securely process petabytes of global video and telemetry data.
  • AI-Leveraged Engineering: Use agentic models to accelerate delivery while guiding AI usage with strong engineering fundamentals.
  • Cross-Functional Mentorship: Mentor mid- and senior-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and architectural discussions.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, databases, and networks
  • Full-stack experience (Python, Django, React or similar) and willingness to learn required tools/languages
  • Hands-on cloud/infrastructure experience (AWS, ECS/Docker, CloudWatch) for data-heavy/high-throughput apps
  • Startup mindset with ability to operate in ambiguous 0-1 environments
  • Genuine enthusiasm for robotics and AI-driven impact
