About the role

Data Scientist focused on measurement, experimentation, and optimization for OpenAI’s monetization infrastructure (checkout, payments, subscriptions, pricing). Senior individual contributor defining metrics, designing experiments, and translating analyses into revenue-impacting decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Define key metrics and guardrails across checkout, payments, subscriptions, and pricing.
  • Design experiments, staged rollouts, and offline incrementality studies.
  • Improve conversion, payment performance, retention, and involuntary churn.
  • Develop pricing, elasticity, FX, and localization frameworks.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to build trusted datasets and operational monitoring.
  • Turn complex analysis into recommendations that shape product and business decisions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor other data scientists.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in data science, experimentation, or product analytics.
  • Experience with monetization, payments, checkout, subscriptions, or pricing.
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills and strong expertise in experimentation and causal inference.
  • A track record of independently leading high-impact, cross-functional analytical work.
  • Strong product judgment, communication skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
