About the role
Director of People Success supporting Product and Engineering teams, partnering with VPs and senior leaders on org design, talent strategy, and people programs to scale Crusoe’s tech organization.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to Product and Engineering VPs — weighing in on org design, team structure, and people strategy as the business scales
- Talent Planning: Lead organizational assessments and headcount planning to ensure our tech teams are built for where Crusoe is going, not just where we are today
- Manager Development: Coach and develop engineering and product managers — helping them level up as leaders, navigate performance conversations, and build high-performing teams
- Career Frameworks: Partner with leaders on leveling, growth paths, and career development that reflect the complexity and pace of a world-class tech organization
- Talent Development: Identify high-potential individuals across Product and Engineering, and build structured short and long-term programs — mentorship tracks, leadership pipelines, skill accelerators
- Engagement & Retention: Drive strategies tailored to the needs of technical talent — understanding what keeps great engineers and PMs motivated and growing
- People Analytics: Use data to identify trends in organizational health, attrition risk, and team effectiveness — and translate those insights into action
- Talent Acquisition Partnership: Collaborate with recruiting on hiring strategy, calibration, and candidate experience for key tech roles
- People Programs: Work with the broader People Team to develop and refine programs — performance cycles, compensation reviews, management development — with the tech org’s needs front and center
- Culture & Inclusion: Champion an inclusive, high-trust culture where diverse perspectives are valued and people do their best work
- Change Management: Lead teams through org evolution — helping engineers and PMs navigate ambiguity and stay aligned through periods of fast growth
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or equivalent, with meaningful time supporting Product and/or Engineering organizations
- Deep fluency in what makes tech orgs tick — you understand how engineers and PMs think, what motivates them, and how to build trust in a technical environment
- A track record of partnering with senior leaders on org design, headcount planning, and talent strategy — not just executing programs handed to you
- Comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments — you don’t need a perfect playbook to do great work
- Strong data orientation — you use people analytics to tell stories, spot risks, and make the case for what needs to change
- The kind of follow-through that makes people trust you completely — you do what you say, communicate proactively, and never leave a leader guessing
- High EQ and sound judgment — especially when navigating sensitive or complex people situations with discretion
- Experience coaching managers through difficult performance conversations, team dynamics, and leadership transitions
- The ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives from concept to execution — you’re a builder, not just an executor
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Bonus Points: A genuine curiosity about AI and the infrastructure that powers it; Experience supporting a hypergrowth tech company through a significant scaling phase; Familiarity with tools like Workday, Ashby, or similar HRIS/ATS platforms; Experience building or refining people programs from scratch in a scaling organization
