About the role

Product Staff at Instagram consists of small, cross-functional teams including product builders, engineers, designers, and data scientists. The role focuses on building AI-native products, setting strategy, delivering directional design artifacts, running data-informed experiments, and accelerating product development with AI tools.

Responsibilities

  • Vision & Strategy: Identify near and long-term opportunities, drive product mission and roadmaps, generate buy-in, bring clarity to ambiguity, execute with limited oversight, evaluate when AI is optimal, produce strategic visions with prototypes, champion AI-native strategies and data strategies.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Drive product development with engineers and designers, coordinate resources across functions, reimagine workflows with AI, foster rapid experimentation and learning, scale AI best practices across the organization.
  • Execution & Prioritization: Plan and manage IT projects for web-based products, orchestrate complex execution across organizations using AI automation with human oversight, maximize efficiency in a dynamic environment.
  • Technical / Analytical / Design: Use AI-enabled tools to build products, interpret research to inform strategy, understand system/architecture trade-offs, integrate data and usability studies into requirements, evaluate design systems and tooling, drive improvements with designers and tooling teams.
  • Communication: Convey complex concepts to various audiences, align products with Meta's mission and industry leadership.
  • Measurement & Impact: Define and analyze metrics, drive decision-making with user insights and AB testing, design experiments leveraging AI, run evals for AI-powered experiences, assess data infrastructure and tooling.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working collaboratively with engineering, design and user research teams
  • Experience navigating through the full product life-cycle, integrating customer feedback into product requirements, driving prioritization, and pre- and post-launch execution
  • 10+ years product management and/or Product Design
  • Experience presenting to executive audiences
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related field
  • Demonstrated proficiency using AI-enabled tools to build product artifacts at scale
  • Experience developing and championing AI-native strategies across organizations
  • Critical thinking and analytical leadership experience
