Senior Mobile Infrastructure Engineer, Ambient AI
About the role
Senior/Staff-level mobile infrastructure engineer to own and evolve the mobile platform across iOS, Android, and cross-platform surfaces for an ambient AI healthcare platform integrating with 60+ EHRs. Focus on mobile architecture, performance, reliability, CI/CD, observability, and native integrations in a Flutter-based codebase with native Swift/iOS and Kotlin/Android integrations.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve our primarily Flutter-based mobile platform, including native Swift/iOS and Kotlin/Android integrations for audio capture, background execution, offline reliability, performance, and observability.
- Build and improve foundational mobile frameworks used across our apps.
- Strengthen mobile reliability by reducing crashes, improving release readiness, and preventing regressions.
- Partner with product, backend, AI, and design teams to understand infrastructure needs and unblock fast, reliable product development.
- Help shape the technical direction for mobile architecture as we scale the Ambient AI product line.
- Contribute occasionally to adjacent surfaces (Chrome extension and web app) where mobile/AI/workflow needs intersect.
- Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar; potential to grow into broader mobile leadership roles.
- Collaborate across product, backend, design, and AI engineering teams in a fast-moving environment.
Qualifications
- Professional mobile development experience with depth in iOS, Android, or both.
- Strong native mobile expertise in Swift/iOS and/or Kotlin/Android (app lifecycle, background execution, permissions, performance, platform constraints).
- Experience with Flutter-based mobile codebases or willingness to ramp into Flutter; deep native expertise valued.
- Experience building or maintaining production-grade mobile infrastructure at scale.
- Experience in cross-platform mobile environments (Flutter, React Native, Kotlin Multiplatform, etc.).
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture, CI/CD, testing, observability, and reliability best practices.
- Experience improving app performance, crash rates, release quality, or developer velocity through platform-level investments.
- Comfort collaborating with product, backend, design, and AI teams in a fast-moving environment.
- Ownership mindset and bias for action, with a track record of delivering infrastructure work.
