Senior Backend Engineer, RCM AI
About the role
Senior Backend Engineer role on the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) AI team at Commure/Athelas, building autonomous backend systems with AI to automate core revenue cycle operations (claims submission, remittance posting, denials and appeals, document extraction) using a Python-based stack and AI technologies. End-to-end ownership from prompt design to production infrastructure, with direct customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the most advanced billing platform in the country
- Build end-to-end products to revolutionize revenue cycle management for providers and administrators
- Be a part of a fast-paced team
- Work across the entire software stack
- Work with a stack that includes Python, Flask, Django, FastAPIs and other frameworks
- Work directly with customers to solve their issues daily
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience
- Full time professional software development industry experience
- Must be comfortable with Python
- Experience shipping quickly in fast-moving environments
- General Understanding of Containers and Cloud (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Attention to detail around user experience and customer needs
- Extremely motivated to grow
- Strong leadership skills
