About the role

Mechanical technician role to maintain Starship Tower and Launch Mount fluid and mechanical systems for launch operations, with emphasis on hydraulics, cryogenic systems, and high-pressure gases. Requires hands-on fabrication, troubleshooting, teamwork with engineers, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install fluid system components from schematics or engineering drawings (ball valves, check valves, pressure regulators, pressure gauges, ¼” to 2” tubing)
  • Troubleshoot operational issues during activation of fluid and mechanical systems
  • Collaborate with technicians and engineers to ensure high-quality systems for successful launches
  • Operate heavy machinery including forklifts and aerial platforms
  • Handle both large and small, fragile assemblies
  • Continuously improve operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline processes, and pursue cost savings
  • Perform other related duties to maintain an efficient/work environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in assembly, test, maintenance, repair and/or installation, OR a certificate from an accredited trade skills program
