About the role

Internship program at thatgamecompany (TGC) in Shanghai, China. The program is flexible to allow interns to explore multiple engineering directions (C++, Golang, Python) across gameplay systems, game engine, backend services, and DevOps. After an initial exploration period, interns choose a direction with a mentor and work on real projects, with regular progress reviews.

Responsibilities

  • 参与 Gameplay 系统的设计讨论和代码实现
  • 在游戏引擎层面进行渲染性能分析和优化，为真实玩家改善游戏体验
  • 参与线上后端服务的 feature 开发、性能优化或问题排查
  • 协助维护和改进 Kubernetes 基础设施，参与 DevOps 工具链建设

Qualifications

  • 计算机科学、软件工程或相关专业在读学生（本科及以上，在读，毕业生请关注校招）
  • 扎实的计算机基础：图形学、数据结构、算法、操作系统、计算机网络
  • 有实际的编程经验，能用至少一门语言（C++、Go、Python）写出可运行的代码
  • 好奇心强，有主动学习、思考、提问的习惯；能接受不确定性，愿意在探索中找到自己的方向
  • 良好的沟通能力，能在跨团队协作中清晰表达自己的想法
  • 认同tgc的理念：游戏能对社会有正向作用，热爱游戏，对游戏有自己的理解和品味
