About the role

Senior Software Engineer to own and ship cross-functional, AI-enabled features from architecture to production, and to lead technical initiatives while mentoring others in an AI-first development approach.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement complex, high-quality features across the full stack: backend services, APIs, lambdas, and frontend. Translate ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and own the trade-offs.
  • Start with the agent, not the editor. Invest time in planning and intent articulation. The quality of your prompt is the quality of your output.
  • Review AI-generated code with rigor and set standards for AI-assisted reviews within the team.
  • Lead small to medium-sized technical initiatives: provide direction, surface dependencies early, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Mentor and develop more junior engineers through code review, pairing, and direct feedback.
  • Make reversible decisions fast and flag irreversible ones early to enable reliable delivery.
  • Propose improvements to code quality, processes, and team norms, and follow through on them.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building web applications, backend services, and APIs.
  • Strong PHP/Laravel experience preferred.
  • Experience using AI agents as a default starting point and ability to describe workflow: planning, prompting, evaluating output, and evaluating what ships.
  • Ability to articulate where AI helps and where it creates risk, and to guide the team through that balance.
  • Track record of owning production behavior of code and catching regressions.
  • Ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and make defensible decisions.
  • Examples of leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-functional alignment.
  • High personal intensity, strong standards for own work and for peers, with direct feedback style.
