About the role

Engineering Manager responsible for the Core Infra team, owning health, direction, and delivery of systems underpinning other engineering teams (graph service, CI/CD, core developer tooling). Focus on priorities, cross-functional coordination, and coaching senior engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Setting clear priorities and a roadmap for the Core Infra team with business context
  • Owning the interface between Core Infra and the rest of the company; triaging and routing requests transparently
  • Raising the bar on team-level execution to balance velocity and quality
  • Coaching and developing engineers with clear feedback and progression paths
  • Driving operational rigor by defining SLIs/SLOs and mitigating reliability/tech-debt issues

Qualifications

  • 8+ years building production software with at least 4 years in a startup environment, managing platform engineers directly
  • Deep familiarity with high-throughput, data-intensive systems, workflow/automation engines, or AI-powered platforms in production
  • Experience managing full stack engineers and delivering team impact, not just individual contribution
  • Technical credibility to lead architecture discussions and review work with senior engineers
  • Experience setting roadmaps and priorities in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Strong track record of building high-performing teams with measurable reliability/quality improvements
  • Clear written communication and ability to coordinate across distributed teams (NYC, London)
