Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate backend and fullstack systems that incorporate LLMs, tools, and agents as core components
  • Build agentic workflows (multi-step, tool using, stateful systems) that solve real product and operational problems
  • Integrate LLMs safely and reliably into production systems, with attention to observability, cost, and failure modes
  • Use modern AI coding tools to accelerate development, refactor, and explore
  • Set patterns and standards for how AI is used in day to day engineering work
  • Help the team move faster without sacrificing quality or clarity
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, and other stakeholders to shape solutions
  • Translate high level goals into technical architecture and execution plans
  • Contribute to roadmap discussions with a strong systems and platform perspective
  • Design APIs, services, and data models (primarily backend leaning)
  • Ensure reliability, security, privacy, and scalability in a regulated healthcare context
  • Operate and observe the system’s behavior in the real world
  • Improve developer experience and internal tooling where it unlocks leverage

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with strong knowledge of major parts of our tech stack (AWS, Java, Typescript)
  • Strong experience in building with LLMs in production, not just prototypes
  • Clear enthusiasm for the capabilities and opportunities of AI and agentic systems
  • Strong system design skills and comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
