About the role
Frontend-focused founding engineer role building the customer interfaces for Mage Legal’s AI-native platform. High impact, architectural ownership, and collaboration with founders to shape product UX in high-stakes legal workflows.
Responsibilities
- Own multiple frontend architectures and codebases, making key decisions around frameworks, patterns, performance, and maintainability.
- Work closely with the founding team to translate real customer needs into product features and usable workflows.
- Take partially complete or “vibe-coded” frontends and harden them into production-ready, reliable interfaces.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on frontend ideas to test workflows, UX patterns, and new product concepts.
- Partner with backend and AI engineering to ensure frontend experiences accurately reflect system behavior and outputs.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with TypeScript.
- Solid React experience and familiarity with modern frontend tooling.
- Comfortable working with LLM-powered systems and AI-driven products.
- Ability to work in person from our San Francisco (SoMa) office.
