About the role

Software Engineer role focusing on Ground to Air Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for air forces, enabling autonomous systems with a mix of backend and frontend development under stringent real-world constraints in defence-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review code contributions, proposals, and RFCs from colleagues.
  • Propose and implement new features, capabilities, algorithms, infrastructure, or full products across the stack.
  • Become a mentor, help support and develop the interviewing pipeline.
  • Share experience and technical know-how through tech talks and learning groups.
  • Maintain existing software stack and collaborate with customers to improve reliability and performance.
  • Develop tests and benchmarks at micro and macro levels.
  • Present work at weekly demo sessions.

Qualifications

  • Can write legible, maintainable, and performant code.
  • Communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Enjoy collaborating with others, including reviewing code and pair programming.
  • Are comfortable working asynchronously (PRs and RFCs, discussions by email).
  • Are familiar with backend interface tools like REST APIs, WebRTC, gRPC/Protocol Buffers, and Arrow.
  • Strive to improve themselves, peers, and culture over time.
  • Ethical considerations are inherent to engineering.
