About the role

Software Engineer focused on building the autonomy brain for an autonomous aerial platform, integrating reinforcement learning agents into high-performance runtime systems for real-time autonomous decision-making on the CA-1 Europa UCAV (Centaur project).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain our existing software stack (Rust and Python), collaborate with customers to identify issues, improve reliability and performance, and manage technical debt.
  • Develop tests and benchmarks at micro and macro levels, including hardware-in-the-loop simulations and flight testing.
  • Review code contributions, proposals, and RFCs to ensure safety and performance standards for airborne applications.
  • Propose and implement new features, capabilities, algorithms, infrastructure, or full products across the stack to enhance airborne mission systems.
  • Mentor teammates, participate in interviewing, and support engineering growth.
  • Share knowledge via tech talks and learning groups to improve the team’s skills.

Qualifications

  • Can write legible, maintainable, and performant code.
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience collaborating on complex system architectures with hardware–software integration for real-world aerial platforms.
  • Comfort with asynchronous work practices (PRs and RFCs, email discussions).
  • Strong backend or embedded development experience, ideally with Rust, Go, or C++.
  • Proficiency with Python for ML-heavy sections of the stack.
  • Commitment to self-improvement, peer growth, and positive culture.
  • Ethical considerations as an inherent part of engineering.
