About the role

Software engineer role focused on integrating state-of-the-art software into complex systems, collaborating with customer avionics engineers, and delivering end-to-end outcomes for Helsing’s cloud-enabled defence software.

Responsibilities

  • In close collaboration with product teams, discover and formalise customer requirements, identify bugs, and ship the latest features directly to users.
  • Coordinate demonstrations of Helsing’s software and AI capabilities to customers and partners in simulations or with real systems.
  • Own the end-to-end outcome by integrating adapters for various data structures, APIs, and protocols with Helsing’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Work closely with customers, partners, and Helsing engineers to continuously evolve, improve, and operate Helsing software.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or other relevant fields.
  • Broad understanding of computer systems; problem-solving mindset and curiosity.
  • Willingness to ask questions and dig into unfamiliar systems until understanding.
  • Ability to work with legacy systems and make them work without rewriting everything.
  • Comfort with scripting languages (Bash or Python) and experience with C++, Java, Rust, or similar.
  • Ability to navigate and configure Linux systems; understanding of network stacks and database systems.
  • If applying for Germany, business level or fluent German.
