About the role
Sourcing Manager responsible for the electrical category (switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, busway) within Fluidstack's supply chain, focusing on long lead times, capacity reservations, dual-sourcing across OEMs, and monitoring production milestones to prevent schedule delays.
Responsibilities
- Own the electrical category: switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, and busway, the longest lead times in the build.
- Negotiate capacity reservations with electrical OEMs years ahead, converting reservations to orders as the pipeline firms.
- Dual-source major equipment classes across OEMs whose products are not interchangeable, managing the design implications with engineering.
- Track factory slots and production milestones supplier by supplier, because a slipped transformer is a slipped data hall.
Qualifications
- You've sourced major electrical equipment (switchgear, transformers, UPS, generation) for large construction programs.
- You've reserved factory capacity ahead of firm designs and managed the commercial risk that creates.
- You know the current lead-time reality of the electrical market by product class, not by rumor.
- You've expedited equipment through a factory by knowing whom to call and what to trade.
- Bonus: MV/HV equipment. Utility-scale generation. OFCI programs. Factory witness testing.
