About the role

Senior Manager level role overseeing a mechanical engineering team in Irvine, CA, responsible for rapid prototyping, ruggedized product introduction, and scaling legacy designs to production while driving design, validation, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Family of Systems Development from concept through production, ensuring seamless integration, reliability, and performance across Anduril's internal stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor a team of ~5-6 Mechanical Engineers, driving technical execution and professional growth within the Mechanical Engineering team.
  • Oversee full-cycle Subsystem and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) development, guiding requirements derivation, mechanical design and system integration, validation and reliability testing, and transition to manufacturing.
  • Ensure engineering excellence by overseeing design reviews, analysis, and hardware testing to ensure product reliability in harsh environments.
  • Coordinate with internal and manufacturing, quality, and reliability partners to ensure high-quality documentation required for high-quality production and delivery.
  • Support critical hardware demonstrations with internal and external customers as needed.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of mechanical/electromechanical design experience in a professional setting with engineering management experience.
  • Proven experience transitioning products from concepts into ruggedized fielded products. Experience with military hardware a plus.
  • 3D CAD proficiency (any platform) and ability to understand and apply GD&T to create high quality engineering drawings.
  • Experience with production processes, including machining, sheet metal, injection molding, welding, wire harnessing and 3D printing to inform design for manufacturability.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
