About the role

Senior finance systems product role owning the finance accounting platform: roadmap, controls, and end-to-end delivery to scale across Airbnb’s product portfolio. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate product changes into scalable accounting workflows and ensure data integrity and SOX controls.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the long-term roadmap for the finance accounting platform to scale with Airbnb’s product portfolio, geographies, and business models
  • Own prioritization across a high-volume platform funnel with structured decision-making
  • Lead end-to-end accounting solutions for new or evolving products, from impact assessment and design to engineering alignment, UAT, release, and production normalization
  • Define and refine data pipeline monitoring and SOX controls
  • Support month-end close processes and automate manual operational workflows in collaboration with Finance stakeholders
  • Provide clear business impact communications to senior Finance stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Oracle Applications teams, FP&A, and business units to deliver platform solutions
  • Prototype and evaluate AI-assisted workflows to automate recurring reconciliation, journal, or intake-triage tasks with validation and controls
  • Triage and prioritize platform requests, align stakeholders on sequencing and tradeoffs

Qualifications

  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent accounting credential strongly preferred; Big 4 audit or controllership background a plus
  • Subject matter expert in accounting principles and ASC 606, capable of applying standards to multi-product digital marketplaces
  • Experience implementing end-to-end accounting workflows across record-to-report and order-to-cash with SOX, reporting, and reconciliation
  • Hands-on experience with high-volume, event-driven transactional workflows in a marketplace or payments environment at a high-growth tech company
  • 6+ years (typically 10+) in platform management, product management, or finance systems with a finance data focus
  • Proven ability to own a complex, multi-stakeholder platform roadmap and drive end-to-end delivery in cross-functional environments
  • Experience in Agile/continuous delivery models
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to work with large datasets; familiarity with data pipelines and data quality controls
  • Familiarity with Oracle FAH, General Ledger, or ERP platforms
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to work with senior stakeholders without direct authority
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Knowledge of AI tools to accelerate finance workflows and validate controls
