About the role

Senior Software Engineer focused on perception, machine learning and computer vision for Nuro's autonomy stack, including detection with sensor fusion, tracking, fine-grained classification, and human intent understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in all stages of problem solving, including initial proof of concept, model iteration, onboard deployment, and on-road performance monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Develop techniques/processes to train models that leverage massive data while keeping onboard latency in check for deployability
  • Take novel problems, assume ownership, and go deep on them

Qualifications

  • Recent experience applying state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to autonomous driving problems (e.g., modern object detection, sensor fusion, multi-task learning)
  • Strong ML fundamentals with experience building and expanding model architectures
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals with demonstrated SWE experience in Python and C++
  • Bonus: Experience deploying models in real-time environments and optimizing architectures for accuracy vs. compute tradeoffs
  • Bonus: Experience productizing ML models and supporting ML development infrastructure (data, large-scale training, evaluation, etc)
