About the role

Associate, Asset Management to steward Wahed's growing real estate portfolio across the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and the United States. Reports to the Senior Analyst, Asset Management; role involves post-acquisition stabilization, property manager coordination, financials and distributions, investor reporting, and building scalable processes for a multi-market portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Post-Acquisition Stabilization & Operations: Drive stabilization of newly acquired properties, ensure assets are fully operational from day one (insurance, utilities), coordinate repairs and capital works, monitor ongoing maintenance, monitor cash balances and liquidity risks, collaborate with Shariah and risk teams.
  • Property Manager Coordination: Support sourcing, onboarding, and monitoring of third-party property managers across UK, Malaysia, and US; hold managers accountable to performance, reporting, and service standards; manage transitions when a property manager changes.
  • Performance, Rent & Tenants: Maximize rental yield and asset performance; monitor rent collection, occupancy, leasing velocity, analyze lease rolls and renewals; evaluate tenant profiles and monitor tenant/lease-level risk.
  • Financials, Payments & Distributions: Ensure property-level financials are prepared accurately and on time; track timely payments (taxes, insurance, utilities, invoices); assist in calculating and paying investor distributions.
  • Investor Reporting & Cross-Functional Support: Prepare quarterly investor communications; partner with Finance, local country teams, and Investment Management as an operational bridge; provide ad hoc regional problem-solving.
  • Building for Scale: Contribute to playbooks, checklists, and AI-enabled workflows to improve efficiency and manage rapid growth

Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of experience in real estate asset management, property management, real estate finance, or related operational role
  • Strong financial acumen; comfortable with property-level P&Ls, budgets, variance analysis, cash flow, reserves, and investor distributions
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills; ability to turn data into clear decisions and reporting
