About the role
Harvey’s Legal Engineers are former practising lawyers who bridge customers, sales, and product to support sales strategy and product development, translating legal work into Harvey solutions and guiding lawyers through demonstrations and workflow solutions.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with lawyers at current and prospective customers to uncover workflow pain points, recommend solutions, and show how Harvey fits into real legal work.
- Serve as the voice of the customer, translating feedback and legal workflow insights into concrete, lawyer-ready product direction.
- Partner closely with product, engineering, sales, and marketing to shape Harvey’s roadmap and ensure the product evolves in ways lawyers trust and adopt.
- Build and refine product demonstrations, workflows, and use cases that reflect how legal teams actually work, including how AI is changing that work.
- Introduce new capabilities in a way that’s tailored, credible, and compelling for each customer, continuously raising the bar for how Harvey is deployed.
- Provide competitive and market intelligence specific to the APAC legal tech landscape.
- Further strengthen Harvey’s reputation in the APAC region as a credible, substantive, and forward-looking AI partner to the legal industry.
Qualifications
- Based in Sydney and eligible to work in Australia.
- Australian practising certificate (or equivalent common-law qualification).
- At least 3 years of experience as a qualified lawyer at a top-tier law firm (e.g., Band 1 Chambers / AFR Top 10) and/or in-house with strong exposure to complex legal workflows and client expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make confident, well-reasoned recommendations.
- Ability to operate seamlessly across legal, product, and sales contexts—translating between stakeholders with clarity and precision.
- Executive presence and relationship-building skills, with comfort engaging partners, senior associates, in-house counsel, and legal leadership.
- Sales, customer-facing, or law firm business development experience is a plus, particularly where you’ve helped shape solutions rather than just present them.
