About the role

Engineering Manager role leading the compiler team for Fractile's AI accelerator hardware, responsible for enabling industry-leading LLM inference performance and shaping compiler architecture from first principles.

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a team of 10+ engineers developing the compiler stack for novel AI acceleration hardware
  • Enable industry-leading LLM inference performance on Fractile's accelerators
  • Work hands-on in a fast-moving, collaborative environment with hardware, driver, runtime and ML engineers
  • Shape compiler architecture from first principles (IR design, lowering strategy, execution model) and make architectural decisions across the stack
  • Hire, develop, and manage engineers and drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate closely with hardware architects, kernel engineers, runtime teams and ML researchers to make informed decisions at team boundaries

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leadership experience managing a high-performance development team
  • Proven experience in compiler development, with ML compilers and familiarity with MLIR or TVM advantageous
  • Up-to-date knowledge of machine learning techniques and technologies
  • Good understanding of computer architecture and performance optimisation techniques
  • Excellent C/C++ skills and experience with standard development tools
  • Creative, innovative mindset and ownership mindset for fast-paced environments
