About the role

Senior RF engineering role focused on design and development of BAW filters for SpaceX Starlink, including EM simulations, RF module integration, testing, and production handoff within Akoustis / SpaceX collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing BAW filters from concept to production, including specification definition, simulation, characterization, front-end and back-end testing, architecture design, and performance optimization
  • Performing advanced EM simulations using HFSS, ADS, or COMSOL to model BAW filter performance, optimize designs, and ensure manufacturability
  • Designing RF modules integrating BAW filters, including layout, packaging, and integration with other RF components such as amplifiers, switches, and antennas
  • Optimizing filter performance for insertion loss, return loss, bandwidth, and out-of-band rejection within size and cost constraints
  • Collaborating with process engineers, layout designers, and system architects for seamless integration into larger RF systems
  • Developing test plans, performing RF measurements, and validating filter performance with network analyzers and spectrum analyzers
  • Creating detailed design reports, simulation results, and technical documentation for design reviews and production handoff
  • Staying updated on industry trends in BAW technology and contributing to next-generation RF solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in RF filter design with focus on BAW or SAW
  • Experience in EM simulation tools (HFSS, CST, ADS, or COMSOL)
  • Experience with radio test and measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers)
