About the role

Silicon hardware engineering internship/co-op for Summer 2027 across SpaceX sites, partnering with systems, firmware, architecture, design, validation, product engineering, and ASIC implementation teams to work on in-house silicon and hardware deployed on-orbit.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with mentor and cross-disciplinary teams to apply knowledge and grow skills in silicon hardware engineering.
  • Contribute to design, verification, validation, and development of SpaceX custom silicon and hardware.
  • Participate in optional social and professional events with interns and employees.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or graduate program
  • 3+ months of software development, hardware engineering, or chip design/development experience
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Skills

Required:Software developmentHardware design / chip design
Nice to have:Verilog, VHDL, Python, C/C++Timing, Synthesis, verification tools (e.g., Formal methods)Spice, Spice-like circuit simulation
