About the role

Instagram seeks a Member of Product Staff to lead AI-native product development, driving vision, strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and rapid experimentation. The role emphasizes using AI tools to move quickly with fewer handoffs while maintaining quality and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Vision & Strategy: Lead and drive a complex product area; define success, prioritize problems, and adapt strategies based on context; drive consensus on opportunities; decide when to start or stop investments; evaluate AI usefulness and tradeoffs; produce strategic product visions with design artifacts and prototypes; champion AI-native strategies with evals and data strategies.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Work cross-functionally to define product vision and roadmap; resolve dependencies; reimagine workflows using AI to increase velocity; foster rapid experimentation and learning; scale AI best practices; mentor other PMs and cross-functional team members on AI-native practices.
  • Execution & Prioritization: Influence strategy across partner functions; orchestrate complex execution across multiple workstreams with AI automation and human oversight; communicate strategy and progress clearly.
  • Technical / Design: Use AI-enabled tools to build products; rapidly explore UX directions; deliver production-quality design for high-stakes projects; interpret research to inform strategy; understand system/architecture trade-offs and discuss them with engineers.
  • Analytical / Measurement & Impact: Gather and analyze user research and market analysis; define measurement and experimentation roadmap; collaborate with data science for rigorous analyses; design and interpret experiments; diagnose metrics and generate actionable insights; establish evaluation as a product practice across teams.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience with at least 3 years in Product Management
  • Bachelor's degree (or relevant degree equivalent) in STEM; Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences preferred
  • Experience leading cross-functional product teams across a full product line; defining product mission and strategy; coordinating resources; driving milestones
  • Experience managing a product through the full product lifecycle
  • Proven ability to drive performance improvements for a product and team
  • Extensive experience analyzing large-scale data and making data-informed decisions
  • Proficiency using AI-enabled tools to build product artifacts
  • Experience developing and scaling AI-native strategies including evals and data strategies
  • Experience integrating diverse requirements into a coherent product strategy
  • Experience leading and motivating teams and influencing across an organization
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to convey complex ideas clearly
  • Experience identifying and hiring talent to build AI-capable cross-functional teams
