About the role

Role within SpaceXSI data center engineering team focusing on fluid/HVAC systems for data center facilities, including design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing of thermal management and fluid systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own and act as subject matter expert on fluid/HVAC components across data center builds – chillers, pumps, dry coolers, chemical treatment, water storage, building pressurization, comfort heating/cooling, heat exchangers, pumps, valves and systems.
  • Perform CAD modeling and design of these systems. Deconflict design with other disciplines in three dimensions.
  • Perform fluid analyses for pressure balance, component design allowable, and consumables determination.
  • Coordinate with procurement, construction and other disciplines to select, apply and procure equipment that meets timeline, cost, and performance requirements.
  • When designing for internal manufacturing partners, ensure designs are manufacturable and reliable; work with production team to ensure smooth transition to reliable manufacturing process with minimal design sustainment engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of professional experience working with various fluids components such as valves, pumps, COPVs, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure transducers, or temperature sensors.
