About the role

CMM Programmer responsible for precision inspection and GD&T interpretation for Starlink development machining, collaborating with machinists, engineering, and QA to increase part accuracy and inspection success.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision inspection (CMM or surface plate) verification on mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials.
  • Understand GD&T requirements as applied to engineering drawings and notes.
  • Spot interpretation issues related to dimensions and requirements.
  • Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality; inspect feature tolerances with appropriate tools.
  • Work with cross-functional teams utilizing CMM programming software and bridge-style machines up to 5-axis head motion.
  • Create, maintain, verify, retain, sort and organize all programs with current revision control in coordination with QA supervision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve precision inspection processes and specifications.
  • Assist engineering with part inspection plans.
  • Identify engineering, design and GD&T issues creating ambiguity in manufacturing/inspection.
  • Suggest drawing changes to improve manufacturability.
  • Assist engineering/management in sourcing tools and CMMs.
  • Create and administer training to help others meet job expectations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of CMM programming experience
