About the role

Senior Backend Engineer focused on Elixir-based systems with AI-first practices, complex integrations, and payments, primarily working on Connectivity via third-party integrations and Peek Pro App Store, with secondary focus on payments initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Strong backend fundamentals in Elixir: API design, data modeling, SQL, service reliability, and debugging production issues.
  • Create scalable and reliable backend systems that integrate with multiple services and products with high-quality code.
  • Lead new approaches to complex problems via collaboration with Product, Design, and Engineering.
  • Adapt to AI-first development, using AI tools in production workflows, and orchestrating agent-based solutions.
  • Design and operate complex agent orchestration systems and ship features primarily through agent-assisted development in collaboration with humans.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional development using Elixir
  • Strong backend fundamentals in Elixir (API design, data modeling, SQL, reliability)
  • Experience with GraphQL APIs (preferred)
  • Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases
  • Experience with microservices
  • Strong understanding of AI tools and ability to critique AI-generated code
  • Clear and empathetic communicator with collaboration skills
  • Self-motivation and ownership over code from conception to production
