About the role

MongoDB seeks experienced technologists for its Pre-Sales organization to guide customers in designing and building reliable, scalable systems using the MongoDB data platform. The role involves working with sales teams, advising customers from startups to large enterprises, and owning technical aspects of deal cycles including architecture reviews, demos,Proof of Value, and pipeline generation.

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable and performant applications, systems and infrastructure for large software projects leveraging MongoDB
  • Guide customers on architecture patterns and optimisation strategies for MongoDB, communicating business value to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the sales team to drive account success through planning, qualification, and pipeline strategy; own technical discovery, demos, PVoS, presentations, sizing and documenting
  • Proactively generate demand within the sales territory through technical initiatives and participation in events
  • Foster strong customer relationships, build champions, and ensure customer success and satisfaction
  • Suggest improvements to MongoDB solutions and processes based on field feedback; mentor other Solutions Consulting team members
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with MongoDB product suite and industry trends

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of related industry experience, ideally 2 years in a customer facing role
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with modern scripting languages (e.g. Python, Node.js, SQL) and/or popular programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Java, C#)
  • Experience implementing scalable and highly available distributed systems in the cloud and on-prem
  • Demonstrated ability to review complex application architectures with customers and advise on improvements using technology
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional sales team to execute end-to-end deal cycles
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
