About the role

Automation Engineer / Internal Services Engineer at fonio developing internal tools, automations and processes to increase efficiency across Support, Sales, CS and Ops; builds infrastructure behind Operations with AI-assisted workflows and internal platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Development of internal tools and services with n8n, HubSpot and custom services in code
  • Automating manual processes with AI, APIs and modern SaaS tools
  • Building internal platforms for Support, Operations, Sales and Customer Success
  • Analyzing internal workflows to identify bottlenecks and automation potential
  • Close collaboration with all teams to eliminate repetitive work
  • Building and optimizing agents for the DACH context

Qualifications

  • Software-engineering background: code writing, API reading, data models understanding, debugging
  • Extensive experience with n8n and other automation tools; know when to use n8n vs writing a small service in code
  • Experience with APIs, integrations and workflow automation
  • Strong pragmatic software development and fast iteration mindset
  • AI-first toolkit experience or willingness to develop it (Claude Code, Cursor, Agents, LLM APIs)
  • High autonomous responsibility and hands-on mentality
  • Extreme growth mindset
  • German as native language (DACH focus – includes optimizing own agents) plus good English
