San Francisco, CA$285k - $325kFull-timePosted 2mo ago
About the role
Lead and grow Anthropic's Corporate Network Engineering team, defining technical direction and architecture standards for enterprise campus, edge, and wireless networks; own vendor relationships and network budget; collaborate with security, physical security, Buildouts, AV, Workplace, Real Estate, and external partners to deploy and operate a scalable, automated, secure network as a production service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Corporate Network Engineering team — hiring, development, performance, planning, and prioritization
- Set technical direction with the team and own the final call on architecture standards across edge, campus switching, wireless, segmentation, out-of-band management, and telemetry; review designs and risky changes, and step in on the hard problems
- Own reliability and operations: monitoring people act on, incident response and post-incident reviews that produce changes, an on-call and escalation model a small team can sustain, change safety, and lifecycle currency
- Move the fleet toward network-as-code: templated configuration with change control, staged rollouts, drift detection, and automation that removes operational toil
- Partner with Security Engineering and Detection & Response on network authentication, segmentation, and the network as a detection source
- Deliver networks for new offices and research facilities and upgrade existing sites through live migrations — with Buildouts, AV, Physical Security, Workplace, Real Estate, and our logistics partners — while keeping interruptions to employees minimal
- Own vendor, carrier, and integrator relationships and the network hardware budget: evaluations, contracts, lead times, and multi-year refresh
Qualifications
- 10+ years designing, building, and operating enterprise campus and edge networks, including at least one environment with dozens of sites across regions
- 5+ years leading engineers, including at least 3 years as a people manager
- Proven ability to drive technical judgment from architecture to protocol behavior and failure modes
- Security-first design mindset with ability to explain trade-offs to executives and engineers
- Operational experience (out-of-band access, monitoring, on-call model, change safety)
- Experience with vendor evaluations, budgeting, and cross-organizational problem solving
- Strong communication skills with engineers, executives, contractors, and landlords
- Desire for ownership of infrastructure with a small team
- Experience leading corporate networking at rapid office growth is a plus
- Certificate-based network authentication and segmentation at scale is a plus
