About the role

Aprio’s 2028 internship program for Spring or Summer in Rockville, MD. Open to Audit or Tax tracks for accounting students on track for CPA licensure, with hybrid in-office requirements and hands-on client experience in public accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Intern: Assisting with the preparation of tax returns
  • Supporting clients in tax research and planning strategies
  • Analyzing financial data to identify tax-saving opportunities and compliance considerations
  • Collaborating with team members to deliver innovative and practical tax solutions
  • Interacting with professionals across the firm to support client service initiatives
  • Audit Intern: Assisting with assurance engagements
  • Supporting teams in evaluating internal controls and financial reporting processes
  • Analyzing financial data and documentation to identify potential risks or areas for improvement
  • Participating in testing procedures and audit documentation
  • Collaborating with team members to help clients maintain compliance with evolving accounting standards
  • Potential travel to client sites

Qualifications

  • Accounting major pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Minimum 3.3 GPA
  • On track to meet CPA eligibility requirements with a clear plan to pursue CPA licensure
  • Interest in pursuing a full-time career in public accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to apply Excel skills in data analysis and reporting
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with clients and team members
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
