About the role

Join Aprio's Specialty Tax team as an Associate, Sales Tax Compliance to help clients maximize opportunities in a top 20 CPA and advisory firm with global presence. This hybrid role requires night shift work from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM PHT and collaboration with remote teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare workpapers and file state and local sales tax returns
  • Conduct research on various indirect tax matters, including nexus and state filing requirements
  • Respond to notices received and participate in sales tax reviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Amenable to working the night shift from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM PHT at either the Clark or Makati site
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or related field
  • 1 to 2 years of experience related in tax and/or accounting
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
  • A quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced setting
  • General computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • A data-conscious individual willing to learn how systems/software integrate and produce information to verify data or identify anomalies
  • A proven track record of working independently with a strong sense of ownership
  • Responsible and reliable, capable of maintaining individual production while fostering a team atmosphere
  • Possess deductive reasoning and a growth mindset
  • Open to embracing new challenges and devising innovative solutions
