About the role
Director, Development Operations (DevOps) Infrastructure Engineering responsible for the design and governance of PPFA’s web server infrastructure, including compliance, network, security, and server design, and for managing the Infrastructure shared service.
Responsibilities
- Strategy & Architecture: Establish strategies for high availability; Configuration management automation; Geo distributed data centers; CDN; Caching; Automated DNS cutovers; DDoS protection; Log analysis tools.
- Designs infrastructure components to support high availability: VM, container, network, security systems, high availability, geo-location redundancy.
- Designs multi-availability failover and cluster strategies: geo-location availability, DNS routing/management, multi-region deployment, secure routing, IDP management.
- Security Reviews and Testing: review CVE/test reports, periodic security reviews, advise on code compliance and security best practices, ensure NIST/CIS/OWASP/HIPAA compliance.
- Management: Manage shared service capacity; co-govern infrastructure portfolio; set roadmaps and standards; provide Level 3 issue resolution; ensure AZ deployments in sync; align request routing with performance strategies.
- Security: Define security policies; ensure compliance; perform security audits/remediations; manage security access controls, DNS, and logging services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and 8+ years of industry experience.
- Professional experience implementing nontrivial applications in Python, Typescript, and Bash.
- Experience with HIPAA, PCI, NIST, CIS, OWASP compliance.
- Strong Linux System Administration skills and extensive knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tooling and patch management.
- 5+ years with Jenkins, Github, AWS, ECS, Nginx, Docker, PgSQL, Elasticache, Opensearch, Prometheus, Grafana, Tenable, Splunk, SaltStack, Terraform.
- 5+ years experience with System Hardening Regimes and IDP/IDS tools like Palo Alto.
