About the role

Staff+ engineer leading development of the Claude Platform DevX surfaces (Console, docs platform, SDKs/CLI), owning technical direction across the Console and multi-language SDKs, with emphasis on productive developer experience and fast, ergonomic access to new capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical direction for the Console and docs platform, defining platform patterns and standards used by internal teams
  • Own the SDKs across seven languages plus the CLI, ensuring new platform capabilities are delivered as idiomatic, ergonomic features
  • Lead code generation, testing, and release pipelines to keep multi-language SDKs shipping consistently and quickly
  • Collaborate with API teams to land platform capabilities in SDKs and tooling
  • Mentor peers and contribute to cross-team alignment to ship impactful work
  • Establish engineering standards, component architectures, and development best practices
  • Prototype and deliver robust, scalable, and easy-to-use developer-facing products across the full stack

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of practical full-stack engineering experience
  • 2+ years operating at a Staff or equivalent technical leadership level (preferred)
  • Led design and delivery of complex developer-facing products across the full stack
  • Technical expertise in modern frontend and backend development (e.g., React, Typescript)
  • Product-focused approach to building robust, scalable solutions
  • Experience in fast-moving startup or early-stage environments, building from 0 to 1 (preferred)
  • Mentorship and growth of peers
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, architectures, and best practices
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver high-quality products
