About the role

Process Operator Specialist at SpaceX Starbase, TX responsible for monitoring and maintaining industrial process equipment, ensuring reliability, and working with engineers and technicians to implement designs and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Identify equipment and process deviations and perform corrective actions
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate process equipment including centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, gas analyzers, control systems, instrument electrical systems and process control valves
  • Work with engineers, technicians, and fabricators to implement fluid and mechanical designs in the field
  • Work with engineers and technicians to create operating procedures
  • Coordinate across multiple disciplines to ensure required resources are available to complete builds
  • Create and maintain a mature hardware inventory system including procurement of critical spares
  • Learn and run standard operating procedures on the machinery

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering technology and 4+ years of experience working with automated processes in one of: control room operations; plant operations; mechanic/millwright support; instrumentation/electrical operations
  • OR a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and 6+ years of experience in one of: control room operations; plant operations; mechanic/millwright support; instrumentation/electrical operations

Required:Associate degree or equivalent experienceExperience with automated processes
Nice to have:Ability to read P&ID and schematic wiring diagramsLock out tag out, hazop, hot work permittingElectrical switchgear knowledge (120V, 480V, 4160V)
