About the role

Mechanical Engineer to support building and upgrading facilities and GSE for a high-volume rocket factory at SpaceX Starbase, focused on MEP design, project management, and construction coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MEP design and coordination for residential, commercial, and industrial projects
  • Partner with cross-departmental teams to define requirements and derive design details
  • Prepare and review design drawings and documents for mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems and specifications for a variety of engineering projects
  • Manage construction activities related to MEP systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
  • Use construction/engineering knowledge to expedite the design process and solve conflicts during construction
  • Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
  • Perform project control tasks, including project scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
  • Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
  • Oversee and own full lifecycle of tasks and/or projects to achieve on-time and under budget delivery with customer satisfaction
  • Coordinate permit acquisition/closeout with permitting team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or structural engineering
  • 1+ years of experience creating structural, civil, or MEP construction documents including plans, elevations, sections, and details
