About the role

Senior construction superintendent responsible for overseeing field execution of facilities construction projects at SpaceX Starbase, working with design engineers, PMs, facilities, vendors, and internal partners to deliver world-class facilities in the South Texas area.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate facilities projects to ensure vendors meet standards while delivering services, materials, and craftsmanship
  • Plan and direct construction activities of internal resources as well as all involved subcontractors for each phase of construction and lead coordination meetings between trades
  • Maintain accurate records of daily logs, progress reports, and financial reports related to the construction of facilities
  • Enforce contract expectations from subcontractors and communicate discrepancies
  • Approve work by subcontractors and handle related issues
  • Authorize payments of subcontractors after thorough inspection of work
  • Maintain a safe work site by implementing safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits, and observing OSHA requirements and applicable regulations
  • Verify all checklists are complete and inspections are scheduled and passed
  • Monitor cleanliness and hold subcontractors responsible for daily clean-up
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors for designated warranty repairs
  • Develop and maintain rapport with subcontractors, operators, and inspectors
  • Coordinate inspections with local officials
  • Review and manage project request tickets, create work orders when needed, and manage their completion
  • Create purchase orders to support timely project execution (rentals, materials, or subcontractor labor)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 8+ years of experience in the construction industry
  • 4+ years of experience leading the coordination of multiple construction trades

Skills

Nice to have:Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R, concrete, framing, and industrial gas tradesReading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and calculationsProject management in fast-paced environmentsMicrosoft Office Suite and PDF tools (Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat)Ability to work under high stress with multiple projects
