About the role

Senior Backend Engineer responsible for architecture, scalability and integrations strategy for Altura’s tender spotting platform and data ingestion, with end-to-end ownership and agentic software-development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and external data sources, including web scrapers and data ingestion pipelines that underpin everything else in the product.
  • Drive collaborative architectural and system level design decisions.
  • Design and develop backend services and APIs to support scalable, reliable systems.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure system reliability as we scale.
  • Rely on and evolve our best practices for CI/CD, observability, security, etc.
  • Evaluate new technologies to keep our stack on the cutting-edge of innovation.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable and extensive experience in backend development with expertise in .NET and C#.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining web scrapers and third-party integrations.
  • Experience with external APIs, handling flaky data sources gracefully, and building resilient ingestion pipelines.
  • Strong experience in cloud native applications (Azure preferred), containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Agentic software development (e.g. Spec Driven Development) as a default development approach.
  • Solid background in database technologies (SQL required, NoSQL nice to have).
  • Commitment to quality, scalability and security.
  • Experience with Domain Driven Design and Clean Architecture.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
