About the role

Applied AI Architect on the Startups team at Anthropic, partnering with founders and engineers to architect, evaluate, and deploy Claude-based AI solutions for early-stage startups.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Account Executives to understand startup requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and guide the Claude adoption journey from evaluation to deployment and expansion
  • Win technical evaluations by developing evaluation frameworks and demonstrating Claude’s suitability for specific use cases
  • Build technical credibility with founders and startup engineering teams, guiding architectural decisions and understanding build patterns
  • Gather insights on how startups build with Claude, identify emerging use cases, and provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams
  • Travel to customer sites, startup-focused events, and industry conferences for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in technical customer-facing roles (Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or founder with founder-led sales)
  • Experience with startups or high-growth tech companies and understanding of early-stage velocity and constraints
  • Strong builder credibility as a software engineer or technical founder; ability to speak builders’ language and earn trust of technical founders and startup teams
  • Deep technical proficiency in building and scaling AI products, knowledge of AI engineering best practices, ability to advocate Claude as the best foundation
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications in production; expertise in context engineering, evaluation frameworks, and modern AI architectures
  • Strong technical communication skills to translate AI concepts into actionable insights
  • Track record of selling technical products in competitive markets
  • Proficiency with Python and familiarity with common LLM frameworks, tools, and integration patterns
  • Passion for safe and societally beneficial powerful technology
