About the role
Forward Deployed Engineers are customer/partner-facing technical experts who own the end-to-end system turning partners’ real work into evals & RL environments. Role involves collaborating with researchers, managing partnerships, building robust tooling and infrastructure, and shaping the product roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Own the end to end product pipeline — maintain a clear, complete model of customer demand and partnership opportunities, and directly shape the product roadmap.
- Manage both the technical AND relational sides of the customer and partner lifecycles — build tooling to manage relationships and advocate for customers’ and partners’ needs.
- Build systems rather than one-off solutions — onboardings should be easier over time through reusable tooling.
Qualifications
- Strong engineering foundation from a rigorous technical environment.
- Advanced in at least one modern programming language (Python, TypeScript, or similar), with experience writing and debugging production systems.
- Extraordinary literacy, as evidenced by written and verbal communication; able to engage with senior researchers and non-technical executives.
- Track record of exceptional performance in academics, athletics, professional work, or entrepreneurship.
- High tolerance for ambiguity, intensity, and sustained effort when needed.
- Willingness to travel.
