About the role

Founding Social Video Producer to launch Epoch AI’s short-form video presence for TikTok and Instagram, working with the media program lead to translate AI research for a general audience.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the video production process from start to finish: brainstorming ideas, handling the tech to shoot high quality video, post-production
  • Produce and edit short-form videos about AI for TikTok and Instagram, from brief to published cut
  • Own our posting and engagement strategy on those platforms: what to post, when, and in what format
  • Develop repeatable video formats the team can sustain week over week
  • Work with our researchers and media program lead to turn technical findings into videos a general audience wants to watch

Qualifications

  • Prior professional experience producing informational or news content for a general audience
  • Excellent video production and editing skills, shown by a portfolio of short-form work
  • Strong prior performance on TikTok and Instagram as platforms: knowledge of formats, timing, and what drives engagement
  • Entrepreneurial producer who wants to help build the best social video content explaining AI for the general audience anywhere on the internet
  • Good taste in social video; familiarity with what works well, and opinions on formats that we should be inspired by

Benefits

  • Annual salary between $115,000 and $125,000 USD, or more for exceptional candidates.
  • For successful candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area, salaries may be adjusted upwards by 21%.
  • In Washington DC and New York City, salaries may be adjusted upwards by 10%.
  • Salaries may be adjusted downwards 10%, or 20% in Brazil, Sweden, or France where costs are high.
  • Salaries not restricted to USD; contracts/payments in local currencies with conversions based on one-year average exchange rates.
